Jay Nolan

January 26, 1958 — July 15, 2022

Jay Nolan, 64, of Topeka, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022.

He was born January 26, 1958, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Charles and Donna (Flanders) Nolan. He graduated from Jeff West High School.

He was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and kayaking. If he wasn't outdoors, you could find him in his backyard smoking meat and in the kitchen making homemade salsa from his garden.

Jay loved his family unconditionally; he was best at being a grandpa. On Friday's he would sit anxiously awaiting for his grandchildren to arrive; "The eagle has landed!" He enjoyed cleaning the house on Thursday nights for it to be messy from the grandkids the next day.

Jay cherished his grandparents, Bruce and Thelma Flanders, for they raised him and taught him all that he knew. They taught him how to fish and raised him to be the man he was.

Jay took pride in his work. He worked as a superintendent for Marley Cooling Technologies which took him across the United States. He would always bring something home for his family from his trips. Jay was talented in his skills and he could build anything you could think of.

Survivors include his wife, Angie; children, Ivy (Carrie) Le Nolan, Raven (Mason) Miller, and Skylar (Bevin Coon); grandchildren; Dawson June Miller, Brooks Raymond Miller and Gracie Nolan; parents, Charles and Donna Nolan and sister Darla Ray and brother Tommy. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bruce and Thelma Flanders and brother in law, Ernie.

Cremation is planned and a Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society 5720 SW 21st, Topeka, KS 66604-3720.
