Jason Michael Walshire

WednesdJason Michael Walshire, 23, of Topeka passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2003 at his home. He was born June 21, 1980 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Michael and Becky Brown Walshire.

Jason was a Shawnee Heights 1998 graduate and KAW Tech electronics graduate. He received his AA degree from Washburn University in Applied Sciences in 2002 and was continuing his education at Washburn. Jason was working for Cingular Wireless for approximately the past three years.

On January 04 2002, Jason married Rebecca Hortenstine in Topeka. She survives along with adopted son Caleb Michael Walshire, 5, and daughter Alexandria Raye Walshire, 8 months. He was a loving husband and father who loved spending time with family and working on his home. When he could be torn from those activities you could find him on the golf course, bowling alley or a new found fishing hole. Jason was an excellent cook and proud of it.

He will always be remembered as unselfish and giving a helping hand to anyone in need. You would never see him down but rather smiling that knowing smile. Jason's legacy will be the love he spread so freely while here on earth. He will be missed dearly.

Jason is survived by his parents Becky L. Brown and Michael J. Walshire of Topeka, sister Jessie M. Walshire and brother David W. Massey also of Topeka, Grandparents Mary Rose Walshire, Mechanicsville, IA, Alan and Jackie Norris of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Jason will lie in state beginning at noon on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm with a funeral service at 7pm in Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Cremation will follow the services.
