Jarod M. Coonce, 30, Topeka, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015.
He was born August 29, 1984, in Falls City, Nebraska, the son of Gail "Ed" and Donna (Whitehead) Coonce. He graduated from Topeka High School in 2003.
He was employed with Falley's, Payless Shoe Source and Wal-Mart.
Jarod was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. He participated in Boy Scouts and was a moderator in forum communities for Breaking Bad & The Walking Dead. He helped with a fundraiser for A Place to Call Home.
Jarod is survived by his parents, sister, Jamie (Nathaniel) Hogan; grandparents, Kenneth and Mary Lou Coonce and Delores Chandler; aunts and uncles, Audrey Pedersen, Kendra Ballagh, Jill Sumpter and Jim Whitehead and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Melvin Whitehead and two uncles, Neil and Gary Whitehead.
Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday, March 5 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
Jarod will lie in state Wednesday after 12 noon at the funeral home with the visitation from 6-8 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS 66604.
