Jared Thomas Wolfe, 25, of Topeka, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022.
He was an intelligent, kind, quiet, loving bright star who touched many lives. He was a gift of inspiration to all who knew him. As his parents, it was an honor and privilege to call him Son. He will forever shine on in our hearts.
He was born April 4, 1997, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Roger and Mary (Hatch) Wolfe. He attended Washburn Rural High School and graduated in 2015. After graduation, he attended Kansas State University and obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science in 2019.
Jared lived and worked in Wichita and was employed by Koch Industries as a Software Engineer. He loved and enjoyed his job. He had a fascination and curiosity for all things technology, especially Artificial Intelligence.
He attended Christ the King Catholic School and was a past member of Christ the King Catholic Church, until moving to Wichita.
Jared loved hunting with his dad and fishing with his grandpa Larry. He also enjoyed weightlifting, traveling and hiking with his family, and spending time with friends. Jared had a passion for music and spent many hours practicing on his drum set at home. He went on to join band and drumline in high school.
As a child, he spent many days running and playing in the neighborhood with his cherished childhood friends and siblings. Jared played soccer, basketball, and baseball. He went on to play for Washburn Rural Soccer and was a member of the team that made it to the State Championship game in 2014. Jared was an avid fan of K-State Athletics. EMAW! He also enjoyed watching and attending Kansas City Chiefs games with his family.
Jared had an appreciation for learning and carried that into adulthood. He had a large collection of books on various topics and loved to share that knowledge with others.
He is survived by his parents, Roger and Mary Wolfe; sister, Katherine L. (Tyler) Jolliff; brother, Matthew H. Wolfe; maternal grandparents, Tom and Jackie Hatch; fraternal grandmother, Loydene West and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his fraternal grandfather, Larry Wolfe.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5973 SW 25th Street, Topeka, KS 66614. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 9:00am-10:30am.
