Janice Kay Mosier, born on July 17, 1943, in Neodesha, Kansas passed away peacefully at her
residence on October 28, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family.
Janice was a dedicated educator, with a career spanning 50 years. She taught at both McConnell Air Force Base and
Derby in Kansas as well as in Edmond, Cleora and Oklahoma City in Oklahoma.
She received her bachelor’s degree in education from Emporia State University, a milestone
achievement that demonstrated her commitment to personal and professional growth. It was
there that she met the love of her life Ron. They were united in marriage on February 28, 1965
in Neodesha. Janice was always full of energy, a characteristic that endeared her to her
students and peers alike.
In her free time, Janice enjoyed sewing, golfing, traveling with her husband, and indulging in the
occasional crunchy Cheetos or donut. She also enjoyed shopping and hitting the casinos with
special cousin Stephanie Bentley.
Janice’s life was enriched by her loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband of
nearly 60 years, and her cherished nephews: Greg Misse and wife Carmen of Overland Park,
KS, Kent Misse of Gardner, KS and Brett Misse and wife Kourtney of Gardner, KS. She also
leaves behind great nieces Piper Parres and Lauren Misse, as well as great nephews Nicholas
Misse and Grant Misse. Further extending her legacy, Janice is survived by her great great
nephews, Noah Parres and Dylan Parres.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles A. Ogden and mother Patricia Ogden, and
her sister Altricia Misse.
Janice’s memory will be treasured by all who know and loved her, as
she leaves behind a profound impact on her family and the communities she served.
Cremation is planned. Private family services will be held at a later date.
