Janet Sue Boswell

Janet Sue Boswell, 58, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. after an extended battle with Leukemia. She was born on September 18, 1950 in Topeka, the daughter of Dale and Mildred Wilson Mackender. She graduated from Olathe Senior High School and received Bachelor's and Masters Degrees in Music from Kansas State University. Janet served as the pianist and organist at Northland Christian Church for many years and also as an accompanist in the music department for the Seaman School District. She was a member of Northland Christian Church. Janet married Mark G. Boswell on July 22, 1978 in Baytown, TX. He survives. Other survivors include their children, Chris Boswell of Topeka, Jeffrey Boswell of Salina, Jennifer Boswell of Manhattan and one brother, Steve Mackender of Hattiesburg, MS. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Northland Christian Church. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Janet will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Northland Christian Church Choir, 3102 N.
