Janet S. Olson
Janet Faye Stevens Olson, 82, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009.
She was born October 9, 1926 at Lawrence, KS, the daughter of Ralph M. and Sadie (Gosper) Stevens. She was raised on a farm near Frankfort, Kansas, graduating from Frankfort High School in 1944.
She was employed by Sunflower Ordinance during the 1940's near Lawrence. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Topeka.
Janet married Raymond E. Olson on August 20, 1948 in Axtell, KS. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2008. Survivors include her son, Darrel Olson (Rina) of Seaford, NY, and a granddaughter, Jacqueline Olson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, August 28, 2009 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 2021 SW 29th, Topeka, KS 66611. Mrs. Olson will lie in state after 3 p.m., today at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Cremation will follow the services. Private inurnment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Saviors Lutheran Church.
