Janet E. Morris, 75, Topeka, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 at a local care center.
Janet was born January 2, 1942 in Topeka, the daughter of Robert A. and Dorothy L. (Hunt) Barr. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1960 and from Clark's School of Business in 1961.
She was employed as the Bookkeeper and Office Manager at Vic Yarrington Oldsmobile for over 45 years.
She was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church.
Janet married Jack Morris on October 17, 1996 in Topeka. He died September 18, 2003. Survivors include her daughter Jackie (Charlie) Shinn; grandchildren, Malary (Dalan) Pittz, Blake (Courtney) Shinn; and great-grandchildren, Calahan Pittz and Bennett Shinn, all of Topeka. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Marion J. Barr.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2017 at the funeral home.
