Janet "Carol" Mesigh, 63, of Topeka, died suddenly Tues., Dec. 23, 2008.
Carol was born on July 12, 1945 in Topeka, the daughter of Charles and Addie Mesigh. They preceded her in death.
Carol graduated from Topeka High School and the University of Kansas with a degree in Social Work. Carol began her career in Social Services as a probation officer in Douglas and Shawnee County. Carol served as the Executive Director of Florence Crittenton Services until 1990. Carol was employed by the Department of Social Rehabilitation Services providing services to children and families for the last seventeen years. Those who knew Carol will remember her droll sense of humor, creativity and musical talent. Carol loved animals and was devoted to her dogs. Carol treasured her 1965 Stingray Corvette Convertible. Carol was an avid Jayhawk fan and an exceptional cook. To her friends, Carol was generous, caring and loyal. She will be missed.
Carol is survived by a brother, Charles D. Mesigh of Naperville, IL, a cousin, Lanny W. Bell of Chula Vista, CA and Don & Deanna Faust of Overbrook, KS.
Family visitation will be tomorrow, Dec. 30 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be Wed., at 10 a.m. at Mount Hope Chapel. There she will be entombed.
