Jan F. Oswald, 80, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Midland Hospice House.
Jan was born December 31, 1934, in Clay Center, to Frederick and Berniece (Davis) Oswald. He graduated from Wakefield High School in 1954. Jan retired from Dupont after 25 years. Jan loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and bird watching. He was collector of salt and pepper shakers.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beth Marie Oswald; daughter, Joyce Lynn Varner; three grandsons, Josh David Varner, Shane Lynn Varner, and Sean Lynn Varner; and sister, Kitty Lou Nicholson.
Jan was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Rd, Bethesda, MD 20814 or Midland Care Hospice Services, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
