James A Rasmussen, 87, of Topeka, passed away on July 28, 2024 at Colmery-O'Neil Veterans Medical Center.
James was born on May 14, 1937, to Norman and Martha (Schultz) Rasmussen in Chicago, IL.
James was a veteran of the United States Air. He worked as a Machinist for Welch Manufacturing.
On, February 14, 1959 he married Joyce Rasmussen. They resided in Topeka, KS.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, First Santa Fe Trail plainsman muzzle loading club. He enjoyed Camping, Fishing, building puzzles, and John Wayne movies.
James is survived by his loving son; James A. Rasmussen II; brother; Lee (Linda) Rasmussen; granddaughter; Jessica (Chris) Sharp; grandsons; Allen Rasmussen, Paul Romesburg, and 4 great grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his wife; Joyce Rasmussen, parents; Norman and Martha Rasmussen, brother; Floyd Pape, daughter; Roxanna Culbertson, and granddaughter; Danielle Romesburg.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, 10 am at First United Methodist Church, 600 SW Topeka Blvd, Topeka, KS 66603. A visitation will be held an hour prior to service time.
Interment will immediately follow the funeral services at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
Memorial contributions made to the family in lieu of flowers.
