James Howard Becker, 62, Topeka, died Friday, March 19, 2004 at Midland Hospice House following a long and courageous fight with cancer.
James was born May 27, 1941 in Topeka, the son of the late Howard and Evelyn Chance Becker. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1959 and from Washburn University with a Business Degree.
James worked as Vice President with Munns Medical Supply for several years before branching off to his own corporation, Marketing International.
He married Candace Shelley on June 24, 2000 in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include his sister, Bonnie Beelman and husband Scott; 2 daughters, Tammy Rhodes and husband, Scott and Lori Schmidt and husband Michael; step-daughter, Kristy Harvey and husband, Steve; step-son, Corey Eaton; grandson, Kyle Schmidt; 2 step-grandsons, Erik and Brandyn Harvey

Services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday at Potwin Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery
Mr. Becker will lie in state after 9 am Monday at Penwell-Gabel Midtown Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7-8 pm.
