James "Jimmy" Thomas Holstein, Jr., 45, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Midland Hospice House, Topeka.
He was born September 4, 1963 in Topeka, the son of James Thomas and Wilma (Tuckwin) Holstein, Sr. He was a 1982 graduate of Suitland High School, Suitland, MD. Jimmy was employed by Burger King and Taco Bell in Topeka. He was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.
Survivors include his father, James Holstein, Sr. of Forestville, MD; his siblings, Donna Holstein and Millie Holstein both of Topeka, and Robert Holstein of Forestville, MD; his nephew, Paul Joseph Holstein (Rusty) and two great-nieces and a great nephew all of Topeka and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Interment will follow at Shipshee Cemetery, Mayetta. Mr. Holstein will lie in state after 3 p.m., today at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Midland Hospice Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66604.
