James F. Holderman

James F. Holderman, 71, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010.

He was born February 12, 1939 in Quincy, Kansas, the son of Bill and Frances (Outon) Holderman.

Jim was employed as an Operations/Sales Manager for Credit Bureau of Wichita from 1970 to 1985, Manager for Trans Union from 1985 to 1995, Branch Manager of CSC Credit Services from 1995 until retiring in March of 1998.

Mr. Holderman served in the Kansas House of Representative from 1969 to 1984, serving as Assistant Majority Leader as well as, chairman of Commercial and Financial Institutions Committee, Small Business Administration Advisory Council, Region VII Kansas, Governor's Council of Advisors for Consumer Credit, Kansas Wildlife and Parks Commission, Wichita Area Chamber of Commerce Local Government Committee and Streets and Highways. He served as co-chairman of ABC-Kansas Legislative. He also served on the Board of Directors, ICA – Midwest and South Central Kansas and served as President of the Associated Credit Bureau, Midwest and of Kansas.

Jim married Mary Lou Noller Stroud on November 20, 1973 in Wichita, KS. She preceded him in death on August 8, 2007. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Stroud, and her husband, Jeff Draffan of Lawrence, KS and Laurie Hermesch, and her husband, Jim Topeka; eight siblings, Delores (Don) Campbell, Chapman, MO, Joyce (Don) Allegrucci, Topeka, Duane (Candy) Thompson, Bailey, CO, Jerry (Nancy) Thompson, Houston, TX, Judy (Dave) Deyo, Cypress, TX, Gene (Kay) Holderman, Scottsdale, AZ and Bette Ann (Bill) Scott, Wildomar, CA; three grandchildren, John Grau, Morgan Grau and Christopher Hermesch; and a great-grandson, Jordan Brown.

Mr. Holderman will lie in state from 3-7 p.m., Thursday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka. Private family ceremonies and entombment will be at the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Topeka Rescue Mission, 600 S. Kansas Ave, Topeka, KS 66608 or to Frank and Beverly Gaines Professorship Fund, in care of KU Endowment Association, P.O. Box 928, Lawrence, KS 66044.
