James B. Ditzler, 62, Topeka died Tuesday, October 2, 2018, after complications during surgery for lung cancer.
Jim was born in Topeka on May 8, 1956 to Charles and Maxine Ditzler. He graduated from Topeka West High School in the Class of 1974.
Early on, Jim worked in his father's businesses, Chuck's Drive Inn and Chuck's Auto Sales. In working on cars, Jim quickly found he had a talent for auto mechanics. He sought further training and eventually opened up his own shop, Jim's Auto Garage.
Preceding him in death are his parents and one brother, Larry.
He is survived by two daughters, Liberty Ditzler, 16, and Justice Ditzler, 13, of Topeka; one son, Bryan Ditzler, 29, San Diego, CA; one grandson, Ezekiel (Zeke) Ditzler, 7 of San Diego, CA and two brothers, Richard (Helen Cooluris) Ditzler of Santa Rosa, CA; and Craig (Deanna) Ditzler of San Diego, CA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Crestview United Methodist Church, 2245 SW Eveningside Drive, Topeka. A reception and luncheon for family and friends will follow the service at the church. Private inurnment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery.
