James H. (Jim) Crisp, 68, of Topeka, died Sunday, April 11, 2004 at a Topeka hospital.
Jim was in the Air Force for twenty two years . He served in Germany, North Africa, Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam. He was a photographer until obtaining a degree in Photo Grafting. He became an instructor in Photo Mapping at Ft. Belvoir, Va. He trained troops going to Vietnam in this field. He was transferred to Thailand and Vietnam to supervise this project. He retired from the Air Force in 1976.
Jim continued his employment career from 1976-1998 at Laird Noller Ford. He worked in several capacities in sales as Salesman, Finance Manager, Sales Manager, and Buyer.
Jim graduated from Montgomery High School in Montgomery, West VA. He furthered his education while in the Air force and at Laird Noller Ford.
Jim was a member of Golden Rule Lodge #90 AF and AM.
He was a Christian by faith and had attended Fairlawn Nazarene Church.
He was born March 21, 1936 in Beards Fork, West VA the son of Henry and Ollie Brock Crisp.
He married Marjorie Pfiester in 1957. She survives at the home. Other survivors include:
Two daughters, Patricia Radar, Auburn, KS; Stacie Crisp, Topeka; Two grandchildren, James and Shannon Fisher of the home, Jim and Marjorie were James and Shannon's guardians for the past ten years, one sister and her husband, Patsy and James Hudnall, Gauley Bridge West VA; three brothers, Richard Crisp address unknown; Ernest and David Crisp, both of Dayton, Ohio; three sister in laws Evelyn Ratzclaff, Inman, KS; Dorothy Lindeman, Topeka, KS; Mary Pfiester, Topeka, KS; one brother in law, Olen Reed, Grantville, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother John Crisp.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2004 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid town Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mr. Crisp will lie in state after 12:00 noon Wednesday at the Funeral Home. The casket will remain closed.
