James Bosch

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of James (Jim) Bosch, who left us on September 22, 2024, just days shy of his 80th birthday. He was born on September 30, 1944, to Clemens and Mary (Hager) Bosch in Linton, ND. Jim was one of 8 children. 

He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Bismarck, ND and attended both Bismarck Junior College and Washburn University. Jim proudly served in the United States Air Force, and was stationed at Forbes Air Force Base, instilling a lifelong love for his country and the camaraderie of his fellow Service Members.

Jim married Karen (Newell) Bosch on November 25, 1967, at Assumption Church in Topeka, Kansas.

Jim dedicated over four decades to Goodyear Tire and Rubber working as an Earthmover Band Builder, before retiring in January 2008. His commitment and integrity earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. 

Jim had a heart full of love for the simple joys in life. He cherished the laughter of babies, the playful antics of kittens, and had a passion for cars, which he often shared with family and friends. His warm spirit and infectious smile brought joy to those around him. Jim’s love language was acts of service, and he could often be found in the background, snow-blowing driveways or washing the car of guests. He always made sure the cars of his family and friends were in tip top shape and he was never afraid to tackle any mower or other small engine repair. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Clemens F. Bosch; mother, Mary A. Bosch; brothers, Louis Bosch and Thomas Bosch; sister, Lucy Bosch.

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen; daughter; Lisa (David) Schmitt; son, Chad Bosch (Erin Lewis); sisters, Mary (Waldemar) Perez, Genevieve (Dale) Townsend, Helen Klepper; brother, Charles (Susan) Bosch; granddaughters, Madison Lockhart (Clay Fizer), Keri Schmitt, Ella Bosch, Everly Bosch; grandsons, Jacob (Emily) Lockhart, Judd Schmitt; great grandson, Jack Lockhart; great grand daughter, Adelaide Fizer.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Combat Air Museum, in Jim’s memory, to honor his service in the Air Force. Jim will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
