Jacquelyn Elaine Kirby, 76, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, Kansas.
She was born May 5, 1927, in Newton, Kansas the daughter of Arthur and Faye Olive Roberts Piper.
Mrs. Kirby worked 35 years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. She worked in the Shipping, Accounting and Human Resource Departments. She worked as a volunteer in the women's resource center and the oncology unit at Stormont -Vail Hospital. She was a member of Lowman United Methodist Church where she was involved in various committees. Jackie was a 30 year supporter of the University of Kansas Jayhawks Athletics.
She married Charles R. Kirby July 24, 1949, in Topeka, Kansas. He survives. They were married for 55 years.
She was preceded in death by one brother Robert D. Piper in 1987.

A funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 27, at Lowman United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Kirby will lie in state after 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 26, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel with a visitation from 7-8:00 p.m.
