Jacqueline Joyce Craft, 72, Valley Falls, died October 27, 2008 at the Jefferson County Hospice Care Facility in Winchester.
She was born August 4, 1936 at Jane Lamb Hospital in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Lester Jake and Margaret (Gladhill) Humphrey.
She graduated from Clinton High School.
She married Charles Lewis "Chuck" Craft on November 15, 1957 in Topeka. He survives of the home.
She worked as a meat cutter at several Topeka grocery stores and along with her husband, later owned and operated Craft Retail Liquor Store in Valley Falls.
Also surviving are one son, Brent (Julie) Craft; a daughter, Brenda Wilbur, all of Valley Falls; two brothers, Charles Humphrey, Dewitt, IA. and Jake Humphrey, Lobelville, TN; two sisters, Joan Pinkston and Marylin Kupfer, both of Clinton, IA; half-sister, Darlene Lorenson, Clinton, IA; four grandchildren, Chuck (Calie) Craft II, Meriden, Maggie (Jeff) Cannon, Holton, Kate Craft, Topeka and Derrick Wilbur, Meriden; one great-grandson, Cameron Craft; and special niece, Joyce (LeRoy) Boyd, Valley Falls. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty VanDorn, and two half-sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Jackie will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday and visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
