Jacqueline "Jackie" Kathryn Brittain, 99, of Topeka, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024.
She was born December 16, 1924, in Osage City, Kansas, the daughter of John and Vera (Parkin) Wagg. She graduated from Osage City High School in 1942 and attended classes at Emporia State University.
Jackie married Kenneth L. Brittain on June 4, 1943, in Osage City and they had two children, Michael and Paula.
Jackie was a Secretary for Topeka Public Schools. She was a member of Crestview United Methodist Church and for many years a member of the Swinging Squares square dance club.
Jackie loved her family dearly and she remained at the center of the family, at home and abroad. She enjoyed traveling internationally, but especially to Denmark to see family. She was a great supporter and season ticket holder for Washburn basketball.
In 2008, Jackie moved to Aldersgate Village where she had many friends and was active in planning social activities.
She leaves behind her children, Michael, and Paula (Samuel) Loveless; grandchildren, Lars, Thomas, Marie, Jonathan, Ben and Jennifer; step grandchildren, Samantha, Lakisha, and Samuel Jr.; great grandchildren, Emilie, Alfred, Lydia, Alexandra, Maj, and Dea; and step great-grandchildren, Aiyanna, Alexander, Zoe, Ariana, Ava, Nova, Samuel, and Samora. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and daughter in-law, Inger.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 5 at Crestview United Methodist Church, 2245 Eveningside Dr., Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Crestview United Methodist Church.
