Jacqueline "Jackie" Shaw, 74, of Silver Lake, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012, due to complications from Parkinson's disease and Multiple Myeloma. She will no longer be in pain.
Jackie was born February 19, 1938, in Topeka, daughter of John and Dorothy (O'Neil) Richardson. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1956 and attended Washburn University and Clark School of Business. Jackie worked many years at Santa Fe Railroad and retired from the State of Kansas. She was united in marriage to Bob Shaw on June 15, 1958.
Jackie loved to watch her grandchildren perform in sports and musicals. She was a huge Silver Lake Eagles and KU Jayhawk fan. She will be missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, and many friends. Jackie knew no strangers.
Jackie is survived by her husband Bob; son, Tim (Sheila) Shaw and their daughter, Arisa, Wichita; daughter, Traci (Don) Thornton and their children, Tyler, Dustin, and Jaylie, Manhattan; and son, John (Margo) Shaw and their children, Courtney and Ryan, Olathe.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26th, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Jackie will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 25th, at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday.
