Jackie D. Bartlett, 74, formerly of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at his son's residence in Kansas City, MO. He was born on June 9, 1931 in Johnson County, Arkansas, the son of Otto A. and Alberta M. Blackard Bartlett. He resided in Topeka for the past 33 years before moving to Olathe. Jackie was an Air Force veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He worked in automotive sales for Montgomery Ward for 26 years. He was a member of South Knollwood Baptist Church and Topeka Masonic Lodge No. 17 AF&AM where he served as Master. He married Willie B. Hull on November 4, 1951 in Speignor, Alabama. She preceded him in death on January 24, 1997. Survivors include daughters, Linda C. Bartlett and Regina B. Ties, both of Topeka ; two sons, Ricky D. Bartlett of Olathe, William O. Bartlett of Kansas City, MO, five grandchildren, one brother, Dale Bartlett of Mannford, OK, five sisters, Jenita Duncan of Chelsea, OK, Leta K. Blackmon of Schulter, OK, Sherry Harelson of Okemah, OK, Glenda Harelson of Longview, TX and Carolyn McCasland of Longview, TX. He was preceded in death by one sister. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at South Knollwood Baptist Church. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Bartlett will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.
