Jack Edward Knight, 80, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014.
He was born December 11, 1933 in Horton, KS, the son of John David and Freda M (McKinley) Knight. He was a graduate of Horton High School. He served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Knight was retired from the United States Postal Service as a Letter Carrier in Topeka.
Jack married Virginia Hochstetler on May 27, 1960 in Horton, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, John Edward (Lynn) Knight, Randy Dean Knight and Gary Duane Knight; four grandchildren, Alexis, Anna, Sarah and Laura Knight, all of Topeka; and a brother, Robert Knight of Wood River, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Howard and Donald Knight.
A funeral ceremony will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Grace Point Church, 5400 SW Huntoon St, Topeka. Interment will follow at the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Jack will lie in state after 3 p.m., Monday, at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m.
