Jack E. Dickerson, age 82, of Topeka passed away on Monday, January 23, 2006.
Jack was born in Joplin, Missouri on February 19, 1923 to John and Grace Dickerson. He grew up in Joplin and served in the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII. He married Fern Harris in Joplin on November 7, 1941 and they had four children.
Jack enjoyed a successful career in the Insurance business and after retirement opened Dickerson Antiques in Fairlawn Plaza Mall.
He delighted in fishing, "junking", family reunions and his grandkids.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert and his son Richard.
He is survived by his wife Fern; his daughter–in-law, Bette Dickerson, Omaha; his children, Jack David and Janice Dickerson, Hurst, TX; Kris and Tony Saia, Topeka; Kelley and James Robinson, Topeka; his grandchildren, Angela and Murl Mickey, John and Gail Dickerson, Sara English, Rachel and Justin Smith, and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. The family will greet friends one half hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
