Jack A. Fisher, 86, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Midland Hospice House.
Jack was born January 15, 1928 in Topeka, the son of Alvin and Grace (Cordts) Fisher. He graduated from Overbrook Rural High School and Washburn University with a degree in Business.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
He was employed as a Bank Examiner for several years, owned Fishers I.G.A. in Overbrook and retired from the State Bank of Carbondale.
He was a member of Topeka Baptist Church.
Jack married Helen Gascoigne on August 18, 1951 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include daughters, Carla (Rick) Martin, Meriden, Karen (Mark) Doss, Topeka; sons, David Fisher and Mike Fisher, both of Topeka; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Topeka Baptist Church, 4500 SW Gage Blvd. Private family burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Jack will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel after 3:00 p.m. on Friday and visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
