Ivan Epley

Ivan R. "Bud" Epley, 77, Topeka, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2006 at a local hospital.

Ivan was born September 26, 1928 in Elk Creek, NE, the son of Raymond A. and Margretha Radamacher Epley.

He was a Damage Controlman Third Class in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954.

Ivan owned and operated the Kansas-Missouri Silo Company in Topeka for 16 years. He later owned the Fairlawn Plaza Liquor store.

He married Shirley Sorensen on January 9, 1960. They later divorced. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter; Lisa Miller, Overland Park and a son; Larry Epley, Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Josh Miller and Callie Miller; and two sisters, Lois Mahoney, Tecumseh, NE and Betty Wilson, Omaha, NE.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Mr. Epley will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burial will be in the Clay Center Cemetery, Clay Center, NE on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 2:00 p.m.
