Isabel M. Viera, 83, of Topeka, formerly of New York, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2006 at Altera Clare Bridge Cottage.
Isabel was born July 8, 1922 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, daughter of Vincente and Monserrate (Gonzalez) Martinez. She moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1943.
She married Charles F. Viera on September 28, 1957. They had one daughter, Wendy Marie. They later moved to Topeka in 1979.
Wendy preceded Isabel in death in 1996.
Isabel did numerous volunteer work while living in New York.
After relocating to Topeka, she was employed by Woolco, Venture, and Richmond Gordman. She was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church.
Her survivors include, her husband, sister, Jacqueline, several nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and great nephews.
Charles, her husband, and Judy Kirch, her niece would like to acknowledge Altera Clare Bridge Cottage for their loving care and gracious support during Isabel's time of need.
Private inurnment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association, Heart of America Chapter, 515 S. Kansas Ave. Ste. B-2, Topeka, Kansas 66603.
