Ione B. Walker, 88, Topeka, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2010 after a short hospitalization.
Ione was born January 29, 1922 in Holton, the daughter of Fred and Hazel (Medlock) Lutz. She attended schools in the Holton community and Clark's Business College.
She was employed by A.T. & S.F. Railroad for 25 years retiring in 1982 as a Personnel Supervisor in the General Manager's department.
She was an avid reader, expert Scrabble player and she loved children and animals.
Ione married C.L. Gaddie in 1946. They later divorced. She married C.C. Walker in 1974. He died in 1998. Survivors include daughter, Bonnie J. (Ralph) Riley-Stumbaugh, Topeka; granddaughter, Jennifer Campbell, Virginia Beach, VA; and sister, Barbara (Fred) Clayton, Rogersville, MO. She was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas R. Gaddie; sister, Doris; and brother, Lloyd.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Judy Claycomb for her loving and caring service to Ione.
