Ina M. "Red" Mullinix, 83, of Tecumseh, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at her son's home surrounded by her family. She was born October 3, 1926 in Lohrville, IA. She and her spouse, Walt Anderson, who preceded her in death and Don Vega owned and operated Topeka Steak House for over 25 years.
Survivors include her children; Judy (Richard) Maxwell of Arkoma, OK, Barbara (Mike) Johnson of Virginia, MN, Kathy (Michael) Fritch of Lawrence, KS, Tim Meier of Topeka, David (Karen) Rains of Sigourney, IA, Merilee Meier of Topeka, Ginger Rodriguez of Tecumseh, Eddie Pranker, Jr., of Tecumseh, twenty grandchildren and thirty-four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Cremation will follow the services. Red will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Heart of America Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St, Topeka, KS 66614. As per Red's wishes, a time for celebration of life and remembrance will follow the services at her son, Eddie's home.
