Ida Anna Emma (Mueller) Kearns, 89, Topeka, died Monday, August 20, 2007.
Ida was born December 11, 1917 in Linn, KS.
She was baptized on December 14, 1917 and confirmed on April 2, 1931 by the Reverend J.G. B. Keller at St. John's Lutheran Church in Palmer.
She attended school at St. John's Lutheran School, Palmer, KS.
She worked in and around Linn and candled eggs at the Hoerman Packing Company in Linn and helped her parents on the farm.
On December 28, 1947, she was united in marriage to Elmer G. Kearns at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Herrington, by the Reverend Otto H. Mueller.
In February of 1948, they moved to Topeka where they raised their three children. She was employed by USD-501 in the school lunch program.
She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Topeka.
Survivors include daughters; Katherine Langel, Diane Smith and husband, Steve, all of Topeka; son, George Kearns and wife, Barbara, Wakarusa; 5 Grandchildren; 4 Great grandchildren; and a sister, Esther Aust, Tampa, FL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Kearns will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
