Ida Bernice "Bernie" Riggert went home to the Lord on December 31. Services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4. Visitation will be on Friday from noon until the time of service.

Bernice was born January 8, 1924, in Pottsville, AR, the daughter of Albert S. King and Bertha D. Baker King. On May 8, 1945, she married A. H. "Bill" Riggert in Albuquerque, NM. He preceded her in death in 1994.
Together with her husband she owned and operated the Fowler-Riggert Shoe Store for over 20 years. She also sold Avon for over 40 years and had served as a cook at Topeka Lutheran School while her sons attended there. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry (Mary) of Boonville, MO and James (Lisa) of Dallas TX.; 5 grandchildren Christopher Riggert of Boonville, MO, Erin (Brian) MacLean of Cole Camp, MO, Rachel (Matthew) Graves of St. Joseph, MO, Emily Riggert of Dallas, TX, and Hannah Riggert of Dallas, TX.; and 3 great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Virginia Kuzemka of Kansas City, MO, and Edith Hornbaker of Summerville, SC. Two brothers, Ted King of Albuquerque, NM and Albert King, Jr. of Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers and 1 sister.
We thank the Lord that He granted Bernice the gift of saving faith and has now gathered her into the arms of her Savior Jesus.
