Ian Andrew Hopper died suddenly January 2, 2016 at the age of 28 in his hometown of Topeka, Kansas.
Ian was born January 31st, 1987 in Wichita, Kansas. Ian grew up in Topeka, attending Potwin Elementary School, Landon Middle School and Topeka High School. Ian attended Kaw Area Technical School studying automotive mechanics. He completed general coursework at Washburn University.
Ian was always mechanically inclined. His passion for all things technical led him to become a fine mechanic and ultimately resulted in proprietorship of his own home remodeling and repair business. Always tinkering, there was nothing Ian could not fix.
Ian was a kind soul. He was greatly loved by all whose life he touched. His cheerful smile, infectious laugh and affable nature drew others to him. Intelligent and quick witted, he was the center of every group. Ian went out of his way to help others. As the saying goes, he would give you the shirt off his back. Ian was always genuine, showing the best in himself while seeking the good in others. Ian was a bright star, too quickly dimmed.
Ian is survived by wife Jennifer Hopper, son Samuel Hopper, step sons Anthony and Alex Massengill, father Samuel Hopper, mother Janice Hopper, father-in-law Doug Massengill, mother-in-law Maryann Massengill, brother Sean Hopper, sister Megan Hopper-King, brother-in-law Scott King, sister-in-law Kim Halseth, brothers-in-law Hank Halseth and Michael Massengill, nieces Angela Massengill, Natalie Hopper and nephews Dalton and Garrett Halseth, Tyler Hopper and Wyatt Jackson King.
