Hope Myers

Hope Myers, 55, of Carbondale, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012. Hope was born September 30, 1956, in Fort Carson, CO, daughter of Norris Melton and Hazel (Harris) Banes. She was united in marriage to Joel Myers on June 5, 1976, in Junction City. Hope worked for over twenty years at Northrop-Grumman Advanced Information Systems, Topeka.

She is survived by her husband, Joel, Carbondale; daughter, Jarrah (Jason) Kennedy, Kansas City, MO; sister, Pam Melton, Columbia, SC; brothers, Reid Melton, Charleston, SC; Bryant Banes, Houston, TX; and Patrick Banes, AZ.

Hope was preceded in death by her parents, Norris Melton, Hazel and Bernard Banes.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to a Memorial Fund account set up in her name with proceeds going to the University of Notre Dame softball program.
