Herbert S. Davies, 90, Topeka, died Thursday, May 5, 2005 at Topeka Presbyterian Manor. He was born Sept. 6, 1914 in Winchester, Kansas the son of Edwin and Pearl Smith Davies.
Herb was a member of Topeka Reformed Presbyterian Church. Herb graduated from Kansas State University in 1937.He served during World War II in U.S. Navy. He owned and operated Davies Trucking Line.
He married Euneva Lathom, Aug. 25, 1936 in Topeka, Kansas. She died July 13, 1999. Herb was also preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Gingy Boring March 24, 1978.
He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Kelsey and her husband Phil Wichita, Kansas; four grandsons: Trent Kelsey and his wife Rebble, Overland Park, Kansas; Tucker Kelsey and his wife Daneen, Olathe, Kansas; Joshua Davies, Lancaster, California; Jeremy Davies, Los Angeles, California; 5 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2005 at Topeka Reformed Presbyterian Church. Private Inurnment will be at West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
