Henry G. Hernandez, 81, Topeka, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at a local hospital.
Henry was born June 22, 1931 in Pauline, the son of Pedro and Juana (Gonzalez) Hernandez. He attended Pauline schools.
He was employed by Santa Fe railroad for 44 years, retiring in 1992.
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Henry married Augustina Martinez on April 30, 1949. She survives. Other survivors include daughters, Delores (Manuel) Arredondo, Virginia (Manuel) Ferrero; sons, Aleck (Patricia) Hernandez, David Hernandez, all of Topeka; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; brothers, Frank Hernandez, Klamath Falls, OR, Aleck Hernandez, Topeka, Simon Hernandez, Topeka; and sisters, Ramona Zabela, Norwalk, CA, Maudie Torrez, Topeka, Connie Torrez, Topeka. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John, Walter, Nash and Ladio Hernandez.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church; with the rosary at 6:00 p.m.
