Henry B. Cooley, 88, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Stormont-Vail Hospital.
H.B. was born June 12, 1926 in Goff, the son of Henry and Ruth (Decker) Cooley. He graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1943 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was employed by Goodyear for over 36 years, retiring in 1986.
He was also a member of Orient Lodge # 51 A.F. & A. M.
H.B. married Ava F. McAlister on October 7, 1944 in Camp Roberts, CA. His wife of 70 years survives. Other survivors include daughter, Pat Oates, Topeka; and grandson, Cody (Brooke) Oates, Augusta.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2015 at Mount Hope Chapel. Entombment will be in Mount Hope Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the chapel one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
