Helen Ridgeway

Helen L. Ridgeway, 89, of Lawrence, formerly of Topeka and Tucson, AZ, passed away, Thursday, April 5, 2007 at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.

She was born May 29, 1917 in Carbondale, KS the daughter of George and Alice Musick Poth. Helen was a graduate of Topeka High School and attended Clark's Business School. She worked for Stauffer Publications over 20 years. She received her Real Estate License and sold homes she and her husband built.

Helen married Russell Ridgeway August 20, 1938 in Topeka. He preceded her in death July 6, 1978. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Raymond and Harold Westerhaus. Survivors include her daughter, Judy Bibler, Orange Park, FL; two sons, John E. (Carol) Ridgeway, Lawrence, KS; Randy (Diane) Ridgeway, Joelton, TN; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ridgeway will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue where the family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. that evening. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday April 9, 2007 at the Rochester Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in Orange Park, FL at a later date.
