Helen R. Parker, 86, Topeka, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010 at Midland Hospice House.
Helen was born August 13, 1924 in Valley Falls, the daughter of Ervin and Edna (Reichart) Garbe. She graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1942.
She had been a member of Grace Bible Church.
Helen married Thomas E. Parker on August 13, 1942 in Valley Falls. He survives. Other survivors include daughters, Lea (Jerry) Gerard, Topeka, Donna (Michael) VanDyke, Topeka, Vicki (Brian) Boutwell, Wichita; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a brother, Lloyd Garbe, St. Louis, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Helen will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
