Helen Louise Nunemaker

Helen Louise Overbaugh Nunemaker born August 26, 1922, in Lawrence, Kansas, deceased December 21, 2021. She was the daughter of Charles Jacob Overbaugh and Emma Katherine Hunsinger Overbaugh. She married Herbert Claine Nunemaker on September 22, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother Philip Overbaugh, an infant sister Anna Elizabeth Overbaugh, a granddaughter Lesley Nunemaker, and a great granddaughter Katherine Babich.
She is survived by sons Charles (Janet) of Plano, Texas, and Dr. Merle (Vicki) of Lee's Summit, Missouri, five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Kansas Women's Day Club, Topeka Association of Retired Teachers and Secretaries and lifetime member of Beta Zeta Chapter Epsilon Sigma Alpha service sorority.
She worked 21 years for USD #501 School District as secretary at Avondale East and Summer Elementary Schools
Visitation will be at First Lutheran Church 1234 Fairlawn at 10:00 AM on January 12th, immediately followed by the memorial service. Burial follows the service at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Lutheran Church.
