Helen Kyser

Helen Kyser, 80, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007.

Helen was born on November 9, 1926 in Topeka, the daughter of Walter and Frances Douglass. She attended Topeka Public Schools and graduated in 1944.

Helen was united in marriage to Chester A. Kyser in May of 1944. He preceded her in death in 1976. She was also preceded in death by infant son, Walter and son, Calvin in 2002.

She worked in retail for many years as a sales clerk; currently employed by JC Penney for the past 15 years. She was also a volunteer in the gift shop at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center.

Helen was a member of Westside Baptist Church for over 50 years.

She is survived by her children, Ardell (Linda) Kyser of Topeka, Evelyn (Dan) DeHart of Loveland, CO, and Esther (Gary) Collins of Omaha, NE; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services for Helen will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. She will lie in state after 12:00 noon today and the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
