Helen L. Hengelfelt, 91, of Topeka, formerly of Leavenworth, passed away, Thursday, August 12, 2010.
She was born in Topeka, Kansas Sept. 6, 1918. She was the daughter of James Oliver and Grace Logan Miller. She grew up in the Oakland area, attended Topeka Public Schools and was graduated from Topeka High School.
Mrs. Hengelfelt was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
She was married to Paul E. Hengelfelt, May 23, 1941. Mr. Hengelfelt passed away in 1979.
Survivors include a daughter Janice L. Day, Overland Park, KS; a son, James E. Hengelfelt, Billings, MT and a sister, Elizabeth Eaton, Topeka.
She is also survived by three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Hengelfelt was cremated. A graveside inurnment ceremony will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday August 18, 2010 at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Chaplaincy Program at Brewster Place or to the Brewster Place Foundation. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
