Helen Hamilton Barnes, 75, passed away June 27, 2008 at Midland Hospice House. She was born December 9, 1932 in Topeka to W. Glenn and Laura Hamilton.
On August 28, 1954 she married Charles Barnes in Topeka. She was journalist and psychologist.
Survivors include; a son, David Barnes and his wife Mary; a daughter Brenda Kettle and her husband Alan; a daughter-in-law, Sue Barnes; three grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Funk. She was preceded in death by a son, Bradley Barnes.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 1, at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Helen will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 30 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Memorial contributions in Helen's name may be made to Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America of Kansas City, 9140 Ward Parkway, Suite 120, Kansas City, Missouri, 64114.
