Helen E. Kinder, 88, Topeka, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016.
She was born August 23, 1927 in Westmoreland, Kansas the daughter of LeRoy and Edna (Jones) Beatty.
She graduated from Topeka High School in 1945.
Helen was a driver's license examiner for the State of Kansas retiring in 1990.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Topeka.
Helen married James N. Kinder, Jr. on June 27, 1947 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.
Survivors include three daughters: Connie (Chuck) Bradshaw; Nancy Kinder and Ruth Martin; two sons: James N. III and Timothy (Penny) Kinder; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016 at West Lawn Memorial Gardens, 820 S.W. Auburn Road, Topeka. Helen will lie in state after 3 p.m. on Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northeast Kansas Parkinson Association, PO Box 67342, Topeka, KS 66667 or Easter Seals Capper Foundation, 3500 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604.
