Helen E. Allison, 87, of Topeka, passed away February 20, 2006.
Ms. Allison was born in Topeka on March 25, 1918, the daughter of Howard E. Allison and Sadie E. White Allison. She spent most of her life in Topeka. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1936 and attended Kansas State University, Manhattan. After graduating from Strickler's Business College in Topeka, she worked for the Kansas Extension Service in Manhattan for several years.
After returning to Topeka in 1944, she began a career with the Santa Fe Railway Company, primarily working in the District Sales Office; she retired in November 1981 after 37 years of service.
Ms. Allison was a lifelong member of the Central Presbyterian Church, a member of Santa Fe Women's Club, Santa Fe Retired Employees' Club, and Beulah Chapter 34 Order of Easter Star.
She is survived by one brother, Donald H. Allison, Topeka; one niece, Cindy Seals, Leavenworth; and three nephews, Mark Allison, Leawood, Steven Allison, Temple Terrace, FL, and Craig Allison, Leawood. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James E. Allison and Eugene S. Allison.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 27 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Ms. Allison was cremated and private graveside services will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
