Helen S. Alexander went to be with her husband of 63 years, R. Stanley Alexander, on Thursday, February 10, 2005. She was a loving and devoted mother to Michael and David Alexander.
Helen was a Topeka resident all of her life, except for time spent at Colorado University, where she completed her degree in mathematics. She was also a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Topeka.
Her life was defined by caring for others her sons when they were young, her parents at the end of their lives, her husband until his death two months ago, and many friends and acquaintances. Helens poise and positive outlook on life were unfailing, as was her loving acceptance of others.
Survivors include sons Michael and his wife, Suzan, of Ann Arbor, Mich., and David and his wife Georgia, Derby; and grandsons Patrick Alexander of Chicago, and Stephen Alexander of Wichita.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 15 at the First United Methodist Church, Klasse Chapel, 600 S.W. Harrison, Topeka, Kan. Mrs. Alexander will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after noon on Monday, February 14, 2005.
