Hazel Virginia Morrow, 90, passed away on August 21, 2013 at Brewster Health Center in Topeka, KS. She was born on July 31, 1923 to Charles and Maxie (Loofbourrow) Barleen on a farm in Republic County, Kansas.
Hazel married Linn A. Morrow on February 28, 1943 and he survives at the Brewster Place Health Center. She is also survived by daughters Joyce Pratt (Texas) and Jan Grecian (Missouri), along with daughter-in-law Marlene Morrow (New Mexico), four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert "Bob" Morrow.
Hazel graduated from Concordia High School and joined Linn during World War II, living in Norfolk, VA and Philadelphia, PA. She and Linn later owned Morrow Jewelry and Gift Shop for 13 years in St. Mary's, Kansas, then moved to Topeka and worked at a dental office until her retirement. They had many years together in retirement.
Known for her friendly smile and willingness to help anyone in need, Hazel was loved by many who knew her in her community and church.
A memorial service was held on Friday, August 23 at Brewster Place in Topeka. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Brewster Foundation, 1205 SW 29th St., Topeka, KS 66611.
