Hazel McCorkle, 90, of Maple Hill died Friday, May 07, 2004 in a Topeka care center. She was born December 23, 1913 in Mineral Springs, AR the daughter of George and Evie Hardin Webb.
Hazel was married on Dec 24, 1937 to Harvey Lee McCorkle; he died Nov. 12, 1991. Survivors include her daughters Georgia Gorrell at Topeka and Mary Hudson of Lenexa, KS, her grandchildren Steven and Greg Gorrell of Topeka, Melissa Wood of Port Richey, FL, William Gorrell of Conroe, TX, Sharon Stuewe of Maple Hill, Guy Cook of Columbia, MO, Tony Cook of Topeka and Stacy Hall of Shawnee, KS. and eleven great grandchildren.
Mrs. McCorkle will lie in state on Sunday, May 9, 2004 beginning at 11:00 am in Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Family will receive friends from 10:30 am until 11:00 am on Monday, May 10, 2004. The funeral will begin at 11:00 am in Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel; interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.
