Hazel Hogue Eastman was born May 12, 1909 and passed away at the age of 101 on November 28, 2010.
She was the youngest child of Edward and Mattie Grimm and was raised in Wabaunsee County, KS.
She was employed by the Federal Government for 25 years and has been as active member of Central Presbyterian Church. Hazel cherished her two kitties in later life.
She married Howard Hogue in 1930. They divorced. She later married high school classmate Delbert Eastman in 1988. He preceded her in death in 2003.
She is survived by three children: Wm C. Hogue of Topeka, Donna Bobbitt of Bellevue, NE, and Richard Hogue of East Bridgewater, MA; eight grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Robert Hogue, one sister and four brothers.
Hazel will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. A graveside ceremony will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka, KS.
