Hazel M. (Kruse) Dangerfield, 96, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012 at Rolling Hills Health Center.
She was born on April 13, 1915 in Fairview, Kansas to Daniel F. and Amalia Mae (Brockhoff) Kruse.
Hazel graduated from Morrill High School and attended Strickler's Business College. After working eight years in an Optometrist office she retired in 1977. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and St. John's Women's Missionary League.
On July 2, 1938, she married Paul E. Dangerfield in Topeka. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1974. Hazel was also preceded in death by one sister, Ella Dietrich and four brothers, Lawrence, Glenn, Floyd and Alvin.
She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn A. (Richard J.) Ketterman of Topeka; three granddaughters, Shelly Callison, Angela Ketterman and Amy Ketterman all of Topeka; two step granddaughters, Theresa Nichols of Wyandotte, KS and Catherine (Scott) Griffith of Ozawkie, KS; two great grandchildren, Ashton Ketterman and Colton Callison, both of Topeka; two brothers, Leo (Bertha) Kruse of Morrill, KS and Kenneth (Mary Sue) Kruse of Springdale, AR and one sister-in-law, Julia Kruse of Morrill, KS.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Hazel will lie in state after 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3 at the funeral home.
