Hazel A. Cramer, 100, of Topeka, passed away on September 30, 2018.
She was born on June 12, 1918 in Cawker City, KS the daughter of John and Ella Otte. She graduated from Downs High School and went on to retire from Kansas Power and Light Company.
She married Elmer J. Cramer on March 9, 1957. They later divorced.
She spent many years volunteering. She was very passionate about the time spent with Stormont Vail, Treasures of the Czars, ERC Designer's Show House, or with Washburn University.
She loved traveling; she made it to every state in the U.S. and just about every continent. She was also a member of First Baptist Church and worked during the war effort at Bethlehem Steel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Helen B. Wallace; brother, Alvin J. Otte; niece Jane Reilly.
She is survived by her nephews, Kendel Otte and John Wallace; nieces Linda (Don) Struchen, Carol (Jeff) Sanders, and Janice Henry; many great nieces and nephews; many great-great nieces and nephews; many cousins; and close family friends, Linda Cook, Eric Cook, Rachel Cook, and David Cook.
Hazel will lie in state on Thursday, October 4th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave Topeka. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5th at Brewster Place Chapel 1205 SW 29th Street, Topeka. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery at 17th and Fairlawn.
